You can finally stream Barbie from home — for half the original price. The blockbuster arrived on Prime Video and other digital platforms in September and it’s currently cheaper that it used to be.

Barbie is available to rent for $5.99 ($19.99 to buy) on Prime Video, Apple’s iTunes and other streaming platforms. The movie was previously listed at $24.99 to rent and $29.99 to purchase a digital copy.

Margo Robbie and Ryan Gosling star as Barbie and Ken in the Greta Gerwig-directed movie, which follows the beloved doll on a journey to the real world. Barbie secured the biggest opening of the year, sailing past The Super Mario Bros. Movie and making history as the biggest box office opening for a female director.

But the pink wave doesn’t stop there. Barbie has raked in over $1 billion at the box office, including a massive $155 million domestic hall during its opening weekend, $93 million in its second weekend and became the highest grossing movie of 2023.

Similar to other Warner Bros. blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick taking a few months to land digitally, audiences had to wait a little while before Barbie made its digital debut. The Barbie movie was originally scheduled for digital release on Sept. 5, Variety reported in August. Now that the wait is officially over, you can order Barbie on Prime Video, save it to your watch list, and stream it at your leisure.

Barbie mania even helped push Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer to a whopping $80 million debut due in part to moviegoers opting for the “Barbenheimer” double feature.

How to Watch Barbie for Free

When will the Barbie movie stream for free? The hit film will be available to stream free on Max, although no dates has been announced.

If you want to stream it for free on Max, you can subscribe to a free trial directly through the platform, or through a third-party streamer such as Prime Video and Hulu. DirecTV offers free Max, Starz, Showtime and Cinemax when you subscribe to the Premier plan.

In addition to the digital release, the Barbie movie Blu-ray and DVD are also available for to purchase at retailers such as Amazon, Walmart and Target. The Blu-ray is on sale for $19.99 at Walmart and $22.96 at Amazon.
