“It Takes Two” to form a bond, and the cast of Trolls Band Together put the sweet sentiment of friendship into song with the latest track from the upcoming installment of the popular film franchise.
In the song, Camila Cabello’s character Viva and Anna Kendrick’s Poppy trade verses about finding a special someone. “I didn’t know until I found you / Having the time of our lives / It takes two / When I look up, the stars are brighter / Now I know everything’s better with you,” they sing in the chorus.
Justin Timberlake, Eric Andre, Daveed Diggs and Kid Cudi join the track at the bridge, chanting, “Now that we got it all together / Now we’re together / We got it all.”
“It Takes Two” follows the previously released Trolls Band Together track, *NSYNC’s “Better Place,” which marked the iconic boy band’s first musical release since 2002 (when the Neptunes remix of “Girlfriend,” featuring Nelly, arrived). Fittingly, Timberlake returns as the film soundtrack’s executive music producer alongside producer and songwriter Mike Elizondo.
The film, out on November 17, promises the usual mix of pop classics sung by all your favorites, as well as new additions to the cast including Cabello, Zosia Mamet (Crimp) and RuPaul (Miss Maxine). The returning cast includes Zooey Deschanel (Bridget), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Gristle), Icona Pop (Satin and Chenille), Anderson .Paak (Prince D), Ron Funches (Cooper), Kunal Nayyar (Guy Diamond) and Kenan Thompson (Tiny Diamond).
