The feud between Joe Budden and Drake has consumed a lot of hip-hop oxygen over the past few days. The latest tangle between Drizzy and the retired rapper-turned-podcaster centers on a recent episode of Budden’s eponymous show in which he took aim at Drake’s new For All the Dogs album, which he said is tantamount to the 36-year-old 6 God “rapping for the kids” instead of people his own age.

“He rappin’ for the children. Yo dog, I had to look up how old this n—a was when I finished listening to the album,” Budden said on the show. “You are 36. Your birthday is in 20 days. I Googled that, too. You’re going to be 37 years old. Get the f— away from some of these younger n—as. And stop f—ing these 25-year-olds.”

Drake shot back on Saturday in the comments of an Instagram post by DJ Akademiks with a clip from the Joe Budden Podcast, writing “@joebudden you have failed at music… This guy is the poster child of frustration and surrendering. You retired and we never hung up your jersey we don’t even remember your number.”

Even Drake’s dad got in on the action on Monday (Oct. 9) with a subtle diss, writing, “I thank God for this life and not having to come to rushed conclusions on Best Buy podcast mics,” while lashing out at “old hater motherf—ers trying to bust his bubble.”

So, naturally, a fan created a fake two-minute trailer for a thriller about the feud featuring a heart-racing soundtrack via Drake’s Certified Lover Boy track “No Friends in the Industry.” The clip opens with Budden saying that the Drake on Dogs sounds “real f—in’ uninspired” alongside footage of Drizzy checking his phone from the deck of a mega-yacht.

It then cuts to a young Drake saying he’s “honored” to be around Budden, along with footage of the “No Friends” video and a clip of Drake saying “nobody cares about this guy.” The cleverly edited piece quick cuts between shots the two men have taken at each other over the years, as well as an IG Live from 2020 in which they appeared to bury the hatchet when Drake said his JBud trolling was undertaken “with an encouraging undertone.”

It even includes Budden referring to Drake as a “failure give their opinion on his idea of a recipe for success” under footage of the Toronto native enthusiastically accepting a Grammy award for best rap song for “God’s Plan” in 2019.
